FAST Global Solutions Expands Quality Team
GLENWOOD, Minn. (Oct. 14, 2016) – FAST Global Solutions, parent company of WASP Ground Support Equipment, continues to focus on high-quality products by expanding its quality
department. Since its start in 1979, FAST developed a reputation for making the best-quality ground support equipment in the world. FAST’s quality team has recently grown to 15 employee-owners, including safety engineers, inspectors and technicians.
“The goal of our department is to not only meet but exceed customers’ quality expectations,” said Ryan McKnight, FAST’s quality manager. “FAST is known for its top-notch ground support equipment, and we are constantly looking for ways to improve the processes and our products to maintain our reputation. Having such a robust team allows us to assign quality control inspectors at every stage, from engineering to production to final product testing.”
McKnight brings 12 years of industry experience to his new role managing FAST’s quality control procedures. As the quality manager, he develops and implements plans and practices to ensure processes are followed uniformly at all manufacturing sites.
“We’ve produced hundreds and thousands of pieces of our ground support equipment supplying major airlines in all 50 U.S. states and 65 countries,” said Dane Anderson, FAST’s president and CEO. “One major airline has a fleet of more than 20,000 pieces of our GSE with an average equipment age of 20 years. That says a lot about our quality. Our growing quality team will help us meet the future demands for increased equipment life.”
FAST’s quality team has a diverse background in quality procedures, from those with years of hands-on experience with FAST products to individuals with a long history in technical quality training and engineers specialized in supply chain manufacturing. The quality team at FAST holds numerous industry certifications, including AQS Certifications for Quality Technician, Quality Engineer and Six Sigma Yellow Belt.
